For adults
Could it be dyslexia?
Dyslexia does not look the same for everyone. These are prompts for recognition, not a checklist and not a diagnosis.
Reading takes longer than you expect
Spelling is inconsistent, especially under pressure
Writing down what you know can be harder than explaining it aloud
You lose your place or need to reread information
Instructions or names disappear quickly from memory
Organisation and paperwork take a disproportionate amount of effort
You have developed lots of workarounds over the years
You have often wondered why some apparently simple tasks feel so difficult
Several familiar signs do not automatically mean dyslexia.
What matters is the overall pattern, your history and the impact the difficulties are having. You do not need a screener before a full assessment. If you are genuinely unsure whether assessment is worthwhile, the £25 dyslexia screener is an optional lower-cost way to help decide.
