Dyslexia Assessments

During

What happens during an assessment?

The exact activities vary, but the journey is very similar: we talk, work through a range of tasks, take breaks when needed and gradually build a picture of how you learn.

There is no pass or fail.

We take it one step at a time.

The assessment journey

What the appointment looks like

1

We start with a chat

Why you came, your background and what you have noticed.

2

Activities begin

We look at areas relevant to learning and processing.

3

They get harder deliberately

Tests need to find both strengths and points of difficulty, so some items are supposed to become challenging.

4

Breaks are normal

We can pause, move around, get a drink or simply reset.

5

I put the whole picture together

I consider test results alongside history, strengths, difficulties and everyday impact.

6

I write your report

The work continues after the appointment as I analyse and integrate the information.

The whole picture

No diagnosis comes from one result

A single score cannot explain a person. The diagnostic decision comes from the overall pattern and the evidence across the assessment.

One score never tells the whole story.

What happens afterwards?

We can pause whenever you need to.
