These are the main terms that apply when you book an assessment or screener with Dyslexia Assessments.

Professional standards

Assessments are carried out by Elizabeth Downing, an APC-qualified Specialist Dyslexia Assessor, in accordance with the professional guidance relevant to the assessment being undertaken.

Reports and their use

A diagnostic report records the findings and recommendations at the time of assessment. How a report is used later depends on the requirements of the school, university, funding body, examination body or employer involved; Future use of the report depends on the requirements in place at that time.

Booking and payment

  • A full dyslexia assessment costs £450.
  • A £200 deposit secures the appointment.
  • The outstanding £250 is requested when the completed report is ready; the PDF is sent once payment is received.
  • Other assessment and combined-profile fees are shown on the Prices page.

Cancellation and illness

  • With at least 48 hours’ notice, the deposit can normally transfer to another appointment.
  • With less than 48 hours’ notice, the deposit is normally non-refundable and a new deposit may be required.
  • If you are unwell, please contact me rather than attending when your performance may not be representative.
  • If I need to rearrange, you do not lose your deposit.

Screening

The £25 dyslexia screener is a screening session, not a diagnostic assessment. It cannot confirm or rule out dyslexia, ADHD or Dyspraxia/DCD.
